I've got an xforce 3 inch tbe into a 2.75 inch fujitsubo. Love it, nice deep rumble but not too loud. If you want outright power the varex you have is a straight through pipe when its open ;-)

The difference in the plugs is the material used to create the spark. Iridium is apparently stock on stis but platinum is definitely better.

I would have gone to the kitchen, collected a brown bag, dropped my dacks, pinched off a loaf in said bag, done up dacks, stickytaped bag, placed bag in envelope, and mailed it right to your face for being such a tool.

It's ok, sometimes when we herp, we also derp.

I'll keep that in mind! Did the varex sound any good on yours?
I can get the platinum plugs at a good price.

I went platinum. Changing plugs is gay.

That was my theory.

Varex sounded fantastic when open. Bit like a wet fart with it closed though.

Add idlers and the tensioner to that list of parts to change - see if Kris has/can get the Genuine Subaru timing belt kits.

2002 Outback - it's gone...

Should I really be going genuine for things like water pump, belt, tensioner etc?

yes... do you know the replacement cost for a late model EJ205? don't be cheap, you are going all out on other bits of your conversion so you may as well get genuine parts.

Ok cool. So I got quoted $105 for a genuine water pump from Subaru in stock. And $450 for a timing belt kit. In stock.
So there's only about $30 in it.

Subaru quoted me $570 for a timing belt kit!

I transferred $443 to Kris for a timing belt kit (incl postage) not 2 mins ago.

How long will postage take? Overnight?
The engine arrives tommorow and im hoping we can start servicing it tomorrow and start taking the other engine out of the car.

Yeah that was express post. Double check with Kris that he'll post it on time but I'm sure he can accommodate

I have been speaking with Ben from Ichiban about the 100,000km service I am going to be doing while the engine is out.

So, I am going to use the following parts for the service:

-Ryco Oil Filter - Z436
-Ryco Air Filter - A1426
-Ryco Fuel Filter - Z348
-Plugs - PFR6G with a 0.8mm gap.
-Coolant - LL5
-Engine oil - syn10w40-5
-Gearbox/Diff Oil - syn75w90-4
-Front Pads - DB1722-GCT
-Rear Pads - DB1379-GCT
-Upper Cylinder Cleaner - 6601J-240
-Warlbro Fuel Pump255Ltr- EFP-085
-Turbosmart Boost Gauge- TS-0101-2023
-Gates Timing Belt Kit with tensioner
-Exedy/Extreme Standard Clutch Kit - fjk7123
-GMB Aftermarket Water Pump

Now, I am talking to my mechanic at the moment to decide if he wants to go ahead with trying to rewire the looms together, or send it up to AMauto. I showed him the link to Shazzas build thread, which has some really good info in it from AMauto.
Waiting to hear a reply from him to see if he wants to attempt it. Seems to know his stuff though.

The good news is, that i got Ben to throw in a 4.44 diff and front cross member, so I wont have to wait to get these.
The other good thing is, that I still have my motorbike so at least I have some wheels for a week or two while the conversion is taking place.

Then, all I need to do is get a 3" TBE, a tune and engineers certificate and we should have ourselves a nice little vehicle!

I have had a boner all day thinking about this.
