There actually shouldn't be too much cost involved! Apart from shipping it! :P I've stripped all, bought most panels I need. Just a matter of finding time to weld it all up. Im considering getting a TIG. Then I might not warp the panels too much when welding!

Pics of mini? :)

Get a MIG.

No pics. :(

Get a MIG. You can eat a cheeseburger while welding. TIG takes too much skill.

Get a MIG. TIG is only used for staino pipe welding and a bit of aluminium.

Indeedy I do. Unfortunately, I haz no powaz in my shed! So it's still at the parents :( Mig is easier. But can also make bodywork painful! Puts heaps of heat into panels if you aren't real careful and take your time.

Heat = Warped panels, which sometimes need to be fixed with heat shrink!

My Mig can assept a TIG torch.

You and Rach should join in the fun in a chalet this year AMS. You always disappear to the bungalow too early in the evenings.

Tack the patch panel in.
Do inch-long runs on opposing sides to weld panel in.

As long as Minis aren't made like '60s Italian cars you should be fine. TIG will be fiddly and difficult to wipe clean (unless you use bog, and nobody should use bog on an old school project car - lead wipe it like it's meant to be done!)
