Thinking about asking for a pay rise. Don't know how! Haha hate confrontation.

You don't have to be confrontational about it, if you do you are doing it wrong.
Initiate it in a professional manner, outline your reasons for wanting it, not just "because I want more money" back it up.. are people elsewhere being paid more? could you easily leave and get more money somewhere else?
Would it be hard for your boss to find someone to replace you, much training time involved to get them upto speed? basically if there is a 3-6 months involved in getting someone trained up for the job to be able to work independently than your boss would need to take into account that he is not just losing you if you were to leave, but he is impending on the ability of another staff member who will need to take time off what they are doing to check the work done by the new person/train them. This is a pessimistic approach and should probably not be the first method you use, maybe start with accomplishments on your behalf that you believe are reasons you should be considered............ Every work place will be different.

My boss doesn't know it yet, but when I've got my Post Grad completed, i'll be asking for significantly more coin. I won't get it though, so I'll be walking from that job.

Nik pays me in cuddles anyway so I can't ask for more than that.

If someone came to me and basically told me they were irreplaceable, Id be telling them they should start looking for work elsewhere. EVERYONE is replaceable. To think otherwise is foolhardy.

Sig worthy.

I agree that people are not irreplaceable but depending on the role it can be hard to replace them efficiently and from a business point of view it could be significantly cheaper to give them the payrise they request (within reason) than to hire someone at possibly a higher starting rate and then as I said training them which means they are no good for a few months / taking someone elses time... that is the reason I got what I was after.

I didnt mean that i would be confrontational about it, I guess I mean I don't know how to approach it.

Or if im even entitled to it. I think ill wait until the next project starts anyway. I've heard my boss speak highly of me. So thats a plus.

Also, sorry for the massive post, my phone spazzed out hahaha.

Damn lunch was tasty!

You definitely have to be careful with the way you word it.

Awesome dog Morgan!

Can't wait to take ours to the beach!

Rach is measuring her every week to see how fast she grows. And we are trying to take a photo every day!

She has grown 3cm in a week!

Wow, dog has grown super fast lol. We've always had small-medium size dogs :P cavalier king charles spaniels for the last 3 dogs. They love the beach, but are getting old now.

Unfortunately my mate had to put his german shepard cross down last week, she could barely walk anymore.

Josh - Should have asked for a $15k payrise if you wanted $10k. Rookie error. :)

I put up with people from amnesty, red cross and now the cancer council almost daily hounding me!! Throw in the greens, green peace, unhcr, save the forking children and I've well and truly hit my limit for the number of fuckstains wanting me to sign something or give money. Seriously cubts,  :fork: right off.

He should have just asked for a 100 million dollar pay rise and he would have got 70 million.

Don't be ridiculous. They would have only offered $1m a year.
