Hey guys,

Just did some reasearch and can't really find anything. But I am wondering how hard it would be to wire up the B4 seats to an RX?

I am thinking about getting some B4 front seats for the Lib, but unsure if you can get the electronics working?

Cheers,
Tim

I may be wrong but it may be a case of getting 12volt suppy to it. The motor and control wiring should all be included when you perchase the seats.

Totally possible.
I installed RSK seats in my old RX (same as B4 seats but full of JDM goodness and no stupid colours).

You just need to wire in the 12v power supply and the earth. From memory I spliced out my lighter socket.

Agreeing with the above
I can't see why you'd need anything more than a power supply and a ground

Thanks guy will have a look into getting this done,

Another question, is it possible to some how to the cruise control from my steering wheel onto the B4 Momo?

It came with an aftermarket cruise control box thing but unsure if this is possible to wire into my current plug?

There are write ups around (rexnet i think) to fit your current cruise control lever onto the B4 Momo...the mounting points are on the B4 wheel, you just need to cut a hole (dremel) into the B4 backing cover plastic...ive done it twice now..RX control onto a B4 momo and now onto my s401 momo

Its really easy though...pull the airbag off both wheels and youll see the points are all the same, just swap it over

the main question is why?

get some RSK seats if you can, the Blue / Black combo of the B4 is pretty horrible looking.. it was what I hated most about my interior.. plain black is the way to go..

or try and hunt some Blitzen seats! the Orange and black look tough.

easy to do, there is a blank pin under the dash that the factory seats get the power from, if you can get the original harness you can just pin the wire out and plug it straight into your existing harness, thats how i did mine anyway, ive seen other methods done, but most only operate when the key is in the ignition

one of the things I did, (which people laughed about), is that I put a switch in the fuse box to cut all power to the seats,

I HATE when car-washes move my seat out of place.. so I alleviated this by killing all power to them, and the power windows!

Steering wheel has the same internal frame and mounting points for the cruise stalk.

Ive just done the same with my Gen2 and fitted a GDB STi MOMO wheel. Just had to cut the hole out for the stalk.

The reason I ask is I actually like the B4 interior, its one of the things I liked about a B4. So when I saw some for sale I jumped on them, I got the door cards, steering wheel and the front and back seats. All of it is in really good condition also.

I know it won't be everyones cup of tea.

My B4 Momo doesn't look the same as the RX one, there are no mounting points for the unit. Everything else looks the same minus the 2 bits it screws into.

Ebay from sgsparts you got it from?

If you have the plug that goes under the seat all you need is 2 wires and done...power and earth after ignition

Yeah, thats the one

Yeah everything is ready under the seat, not sure if motors work but only one way to find out. Is the cig lighter a good place to splice into?

DAMN YOU.

I was looking at that listing. (did not bid)
You got yourself a bargain!

I personally wouldn't run from cig lighter.
I'd throw 100 bucks to an auto elec to have it done properly and know your not going to blow fuses etc.

Sorry I missed this.

So what part do I need? does this mean the RX already has a plug end under the dash that it can plug into?

Not sure if im reading this wrong.

As far as I recall, there is a plug under the seat in the RX. However, from memory this is related to something to do with the seatbelt warning lamp. If I'm wrong, Im sure someone will let us know.

Given that I've literally done what you are trying to acheive (putting electric RSK/B4 seats into an RX), I can say with authority that splicing into the cigarette lighter power supply is fine. You will not blow any fuses in doing this and it's easy to access.

Like I said earlier, all you need is an earth location and a 12v supply.
