I put up with people from amnesty, red cross and now the cancer council almost daily hounding me!! Throw in the greens, green peace, unhcr, save the forking children and I've well and truly hit my limit for the number of fuckstains wanting me to sign something or give money. Seriously cubts,  :fork: right off.

We have been, but this socialises the dog, and helps us with things we may be missing.

She sits and waits already, which is good.

We don't use food treats, just toys :)

@ morgan, I've almost taught her to actually catch a toy being thrown at her mouth, Instead of letting it hit her face haha!

Adam, i've been through 12 puppy classes now, including obedience training. Definitely worth it hey. We use treats in our classes though, and I'd expect you'd have to do the same, as you need to teach them impulse control and shiz.

Do this. A lot.

Let her get knocked over by bigger dogs, sniffed by bigger dogs etc...don't be one of those over protective owners who picks their dogs up whenever another dog sniffs in your direction. (not saying you will, but i hate people like that and it's really bad for the dog).

Ugh i could ramble on for forking days about this stuff.

Agreed. Get her to mingle with other dogs as much as you can while it is young. If she gets snapped at by a bigger dog, don't freak out. Its an important lesson to learn for them.

Also, if she sees another dog, and goes psycho, get her to sit down for 10 seconds, and calm down before letting them meet each other. It teaches them the importance of being calm.

The way our puppy school teacher told us, is that if that was human behaviour it would be unacceptable.

You don't just randomly go running up to strangers in the street, and start jumping on them, and slobbering over them.

LOL Pick up a doberman.

All taken on board.

The school is cool with us not using treats. It's just basic obedience atm i think (4 week course)

And socialising is a definite need. My parents dogs hate other dogs.

Mine cost $250 for 4 weeks.

And i've done 3 of them now.

Spenno, but he is well trained, and he is only 6 months old.

Definitely worth it Shaz. Especially for an inside dog! We have been disciplined from day one. Because she will live inside as well as outside.

Did you learn the shooting trick from school?

Awesome!!

Haze did 4 weeks at puppy preschool and now goes weekly to a puupy primary school type thing with a whole bunch of other dogs. I can't go to that one because TAFE but it sounds like she has an absolute ball!

She's always going up to other dogs and says hello. Most other dogs can't be bothered though :P

Third world problem right there.

Sig worthy.

Adam - Nah man, thats just 30mins a day training at home.

Took about 3 weeks of everyday training to get him to the point where he is now. Still ages to go, but he is getting the basics of it already.

Odysseys do nothing for me. The only saving grace is that you can crank the rear aircon, when you're stuck in the back putting tint on.
