Yeah cam. I have no idea why i chose to go that way home. Forgot how badly that intersection floods.

Its not too bad, pulled the guard liner out. Its cracked the paint on the gaurd but isnt noticable as its where the guard folds over in the wheel arch. And ill see if ive snapped any clips and things in the light tomorrow.

Im just hoping water hasnt got anywhere where it shouldnt be. Posted Image

Sweeeet!

Do yourself a favour and ditch the K&N filter.

No good for Urabus MAF's. Give your MAF a clean after it's gone.

That difference.

Yeah ive heard they do that too but i thought it was only oiled filters as it ran off the filter and onto the MAF. Mines not oiled so i thought i wouldn't have any dramas. Im probably wrong but... if so ill just switch out for a lukey washable one.

cheers for the heads up anyway cam.

also did you run a defi cluster in your bug eye? ( i swear you told me you did at hooters once, might be talking shit but) just keen to find out if there might be anything i should watch out for. they are supposed to be plug and play with the 03 but i have the earlier model dash and console from a bug.

I had a JDM V7 STI one mate. With the shift beeper and ect.

No DEFI.

Hmm, I'm pretty sure they run the same connectors anyway.

I've seen a DEFI V8 STI cluster in a MY03 before. I don't remember the owner having any problems with the swap :)

Edit:

The outside temp sensor won't work (Could be an easy fix), Apparently you need the temp sensor off the STI.

The rear diff temp light will come on, Just earth that and no worries.

And you need to clip one of the wires to prevent blown fuses.

cool cheers man, yeah from what ive gathered from some other forums v8 is a straight swap for 03-04 but anything after an 04 sti cluster will need to be rewired.

Sweet. Yeah im not too sure about the temp sensor. But the diff light i will earth and the wires i can cut (from what ive read its the radio fuse and one other) but apparently the wires are only supposed to be an issue on wrx's before 03 so will have to wait until it gets here to see what the deal is

Version 8 sti cluster is in.

no dccd or rear diff lights and no blown radio fuse so everything's looking good,

Except the fuel gauge sits a bit higher on this then my old impreza cluster. i should be close to the bottom Empty line.

also does anyone know if its possible to have the odometer wound forward to match the original km's of the car. might just be me being ocd but i would like to have it match.

Got bored at uni today so went to cardiff automotive and picked up an sti genome strut brace. Also ordered a different style lip, red t4 hvac leds and t5 lights for the key ring light and ciggerette lighter light to match the sti cluster. The real biatch has been trying to find a red sti clock for the dash.

interior lights came in the mail today. HVAC lights, ignition and cigarette lighter are done, now i just need to get a new head unit, swap the clock out for an sti clock (if i can ever find one) or triple gauge pod with red prosport or defi (if i will ever get that kind of money) guages and source a second set of cruise/foglight buttons then DIY it to be red.

If anyone wants to do this, i got the lights from autolumination.com

Part 3 of changing my interior lights to red: ATI triple gauge pod with Prosport 60mm boost, oil temp and oil pressure gauges to replace the clock and also to replace the boost gauge that was for some stupid reason mounted next to the gear stick in the drivers footwell where i couldnt see it. (phone photos are terrible sorry ha)

Ended up using the oil galley bung under intercooler and will use the other one under the alternator when i pick up the t-piece tomorrow.
