In theory that will work but dont be tempted to test the resistance of the air bag.

 

An ohm meter will output a small current to determine the resistance and this potentially could deploy the airbag.

Yeah as Morgan has chimed in with, the resistance is 3.3ohms. Decided to go that way now and be done with it.
