Engine went bye byes. it was only a matter of time.
i ran out of fuel at Raleigh, then a week later the oil pressure dropped while at QR, i had the dreaded knock knock. so fun over i put her back on the truck and brought her home.
was on the hunt and doing my research for a replacement heart (was leaning toward the SR20DET black top)
UNTILL a good friend and antique forry lover (BOSE) came to me with a solution... 2.7 built EJ257

i am running a VF43 which may be a little small to bring out the potential of this motor, but im not looking for outright power. im looking for RELABILITY. only hoping for 200-220kw (i want the turbo to be the limiting factor)
now running a Haltech Sports 1000 and Eboost controlling the boosting.
have installed a swirl pot and 044 under the bonnet, AC delete, heat wrapped Grimmspeed cross-over and uppipe that run past the oil filter. relocated the oil cooler to up on the radiator. heat sleeved what looks like it should stay cool.
AND THATS JUST THE ENGINE BAY!
have also installed some custom LCA's that widen the front track by 30mm (plus the 15mm or so that you get from GD cradle) have semi tubbed the fronts by cutting out the forester tubs, and welding in the STI tubs (out of the halfcut) 20-25mm higher/forward of stock to allow wheel clearance on lock (didnt need massive tubs, and wanted the stock look for the police)
also swapped out my Zerosports forester coilovers for GC8 BuddyClub coilovers, braided brake lines, longer studs
most of this was done just before the HVC14 and SubiNats14
