Yeah mate, need to be extended about 2 inches. They cost around $60 to extend at an exhaust shop and they cost about $50 to buy. Just make sure the exhaust shop plugs in the O2 sensor, otherwise it will throw a CEL.

Alright, might even try extending them myself if its not to much of a hassle

Does the O2 sensor plug straight in or is there no hole?

If you bothered to read the link i posted you'd see a picture of the headers with the hole in them for the sensor.

Gen 1 headers will come with a plug. Just unplug your stock headers and reconnect the Gen 1 headers. Takes 15 seconds. Only way to learn is to try, even if it costs you money it's worth it for the experience.

dont listen to these people just get a set of wrx headers... a full set! up pipe dump pipe the whole shebang! remove the turbo and fabricate a piece to join the two pieces! Any exhaust shop can do it ! sell the turbo on ebay and at least then it wont cost as much as a turbo conversion! sounds mad!

yeah keen to do it myself, haha didnt see the hole, thought i would have to drill into the headers or something.

Wouldn't it be easier to buy gen1 headers and extend them, rather than cutting off the dump from the wrx headers? I would have thought wrx headers would be more expensive than gen1 headers aswell?
