This Morning i was Involved in a crash. I was turning right and the second car behind me was goin to fast to stop in the wet, so she over took the car behind me and went onto the oncoming lane and Bang! Hit me on the drivers side as i was turning and my car spun onto the curb.

Panel damage on door, rear wheel arch. Beam is bent in, wheel probably bent.
I bought this car for 2700 early this year and now has 259xxx k's on it.

Writeoff?
Would be easy getting it fixed or take the money and buy something new?

Shame really as i had just fixed and slaved over the heater core!

Glad nobody was hurt. Take the cash.

Now... You don't have insurance? No excuses, that's just plain irresponsible.

Why would you get insurance on a car worth $2700?

I was under the impression we're talking full comp insurance.
If you don't have 3rd party you're an idiot because if you hit a Ferrari you'll be paying it off for the rest of your life.

I was hit by a drunk driver last christmas that had no insurance.

My insurance company raped them. New plates, Bonnet, Front bar, AC condenser, sti foglight covers, paint, labour, medical bills and the loan car bill.

Looks like this lady has no insurance after all. Wont answer her phone, pulled a runner. I have her address and I have a lawyer friend that could write a letter telling her that i'am goin to sue....If she doesnt cough up the cash, it was worth a try.
Could be a cheap fix mechanically. Apart from the panel damage looks to be only a bent control arm or tie rod, stuffed wheel. I'll need a new tire too, drove it home oh so slow with smoke everywhere. hehe.

Whoa.... you've just highlighted why you need insurance. Letters from lawyers don't tend to do much unless you have witnesses.

have you got her Numberplate? if so a trip to the police station to report the incident would be in order. did you get any details after the accident or did she just run off straight away?

Letters from lawyers are all well and good, but realistically without witnesses to the accident or a police report or some form of evidence things wont hold up in a court.

You're right, third party wouldn't cover it. The example above is why every comprehensive insurance is a good thing to have.

Except when the car costs half of your yearly premium!

Third party property is always a must in that case

I guess it's different courses for different horses mate. I've never not had copmprehensive, even when I've had cars worth $1000. It's saved my butt on a number of occasions.
