Subaru and its STI division will be heading to the 2013 Tokyo Auto Salon with some fancy new hardware, including a limited edition mechanical watch, perfect for any Subaru STI enthusiast.

The limited edition timepiece will make its debut at the upcoming 2013 Tokyo Auto Salon where the Japanese automaker will have 30 units on hand for sale. A total of 300 will be sold and pricing is around $710 (59,325 Yen).

The mechanical watch uses gears to measure time and shows the time for several international cities plus the infamous Nurburgring track. A power-reserve counter is shaped like a fuel gauge at the six o'clock position while a window on both sides shows the gears shaped like a boxer engine piston.

Now THAT is a good looking watch! One of the few that I really like that's not Tag Heuer. Very impressive. Not a bad price at all either I think.

Hi,

Fuuuuuuck you AEK! FUuuuuuuCCKK YOUU!!.

Where do I sign?

The only caveat is that if you’re thinking of scooping this timepiece up as a Christmas present, you might have to wait past the holidays to get it. Subaru will actually bring the watch to the 2013 Tokyo Auto Salon where they will have 30 units on hand ready to be sold.

Nyoorrr I want this badly.

Cheers,
Nik

I don't like wearing watches, but this I could.
Looks great and I like the fuel gauge idea. Normally I would say this is gimmick but with a mechanical watch, I'm sure it would be handy.

There is just something about things that have gears, springs and levers.

SubyClub group buy?

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

Hi Jase,

They are forkin' hard to come by. I emailed from that link Gary posted, but have not heard back.

Pretty keen, considering our dollar rate at the moment, it works out to under $600 - not $710 as quoted above!

Cheers,.

I wish I could justify $600 for a watch atm!

For the same reasons as Jase!

I love the watch but just can't spare the cash to get one at the moment. I'm sure they'll have more (even if they are different models) in the future. There are MANY watches above $600 Adam. I have always wanted a TAG Heuer watch but that's when they start going stupidly expensive.

And how much did you get it for to give it to your dad? Why so expensive?

Nice Nik! Keen so see some better pics of the fine details.

I'm actually after a skeleton/moon phase at the moment. probably looking for a winding mechanical movement (automatic if i have to but i'd prefer not). there are just so many option i keep flip flopping around.

Hi,

Sorry, the skeleton I posted two days ago was a different watch. Apologies for confusion. I definitely didn't drop a hundred K on a timepiece.

That Sturhling was around $500.

Cheers,
Nik

Wow mechanically that movement is stunning. it's quite unusual.

haha ahh i think i got your "posted" and "posted" confused.

i really like the fact that Oris are still only making mechanical movements. also seem to drawn to Baume & Mercier at the moment for some reason

That is way too much for a watch. I wouldn't think of paying over $500. Main reason is because if I ever got a scratch on it, I'd lose my shit.

Hi,

Everyone is different, my watches are for me really. Maybe I've just listened to too much hip hop? I've got thirteen now, waiting on the next one to get here, need an even number.

In reality, I could put them all together and get a 2nd hand Rolex, IWC, something like that. But I like wearing different watches everyday.

Variety is the spice of life.

That link still hasn't returned an email, Gary.

Wankers!

Also, the more you spend, the longer it lasts. Seriously. Some faces you can rub against a rock and it won't scratch.

Cheers,
Nik
