We just found out Indi (Indiana, on of our dogs) is in the early stages of heart failure, she is 10 but might get a couple more years. This is how the dog she replaced, Molly, went at 8. Which is kind of unfortunate, but an issue with the species, their hearts give out before anything else.

Lulu however, is still going strong, she is 11 in a couple months - and got run over when she was 1, has a plate in her pelvis and everything.

Thats shit news mate. I remember the day we were told my dog of 18 years (chihuahua x pom) had a tumor in his mouth.

It was inoperable and after a year he was gone.. heart wrenching aye.

When you thunk abiut it, its so silly how much we get attached to animals. They dont understand us, we dont understand them, yet, we both love each other so much.. hmmm

18 years for a dog is a motherfuckin' good run.

my grandfather had a chihuahua in Poland that apparently lived to about 26 years.

I always get a lump in my throat when I hear news like this about dogs.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

Well we've only had one dog and a cat (put down because massive cancer) pass away in my lifetime. The other 2 dogs were stolen from us when we lived in boganville. I still remember how Molly went, its quite a story. Spoilered because sad/sappy.

Spoiler

Sucks to lose a member of the family like that. Especially the only member of the family that knows ALL your secrets, but will never tell anyone.

:)

Remember the good stuff!
