Merc are going to have an AWD option on their E63 AMG, they are aiming to get the car to do 0-100 in around 3 seconds (they are 4.3 at the moment with traction issues)


"If you want to be a member of the club with cars that have 0-100km/h times of around 3.0 seconds, then you need to have all-wheel-drive for your sports cars," Eichlers said. "The traction is a little bit of a problem for us, and we can solve this problem with all-wheel-drive."

The new model will retain the same 5.5-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, with power outputs likely to increase from the current version’s 386kW and 410kW. Torque should also rise slightly, while fuel use is expected to drop marginally.
