Gotta put it into gear.

Has ayone heard that the new wrx is apparently slow with no power at all?

Check out these horrible specs. I'm going to call them the "newwrxseemsslowandyesididrevitover2k" specs.
Maximum power output - 195kW @ 6000rpm
Maximum torque - 343Nm @ 4000rpm
Acceleration 0 - 100 km/h - 5.3 seconds
Kerb weight 1455kg

Fargin' slow, underpowered, overweight sloth of a car.

They seem pretty damn quick from the passengers seat.

Maybe he is comparing it to his LSX powered Gen 2?

I haven’t driven the MY12/MY13 WRX yet but I did test drive a CS10 and an MY11 WRX last year and they were both beautiful cars to drive. Fantastic power delivery and felt like they both handled well straight out of the box.

Thx bro!

I do agree that older cars feel like rocket ships! But for a factory wrx is not slow at all that to me is a stupid statement

Go buy an xr6 if you like going fast in a taxi

After you've been passanger in a gen3 boosting 20psi nothing else seems fast, let alone a gen3 boosting 22psi!

I need a new fence along the side of the house. I wonder if I told the old bloke next door that the new WRX is slow compared to the 2011 XR6 he'd offer to wear the cost of the entire fence?

Now, Mr. Quietone. I'm going to thank you for highlighting just how much my observational skills liken me to the great Sherlock Holmes. Thank you.
So, I will now put my powers of observation and deduction to work followed by asking you to complete a little exercise when I'm done.

Here we go! Hang onto your hat... (does your hat have something like "illest" embroidered on it?)

XR6 = 195kW @ 6000rpm
WRX = 195kW @ 6000rpm

XR6 = 391Nm @ 3250rpm
WRX = 343Nm @ 4000rpm

XR6 = 1730kg
WRX = 1455kg

XR6 = 7.5sec 0-100 sprint
WRX = 5.3 0-100 sprint.

Now here's the fun part... Take the above basic figures, think about your entire thread being based on the speed of a car that you weren't even driving.
No look at the figures again.
Now think about it a little more.
Now log out of the site....
Now go over to carsales and advertise your liberty for sale.
Now go over to ford forums and talk shit about how slow the new WRX is compared to an XT falcon with a body kit.

Be prepared though, you'll probably get flamed over there too.

Since its inception, I have driven a few different models of WRX (some STi, some not) along my lengthy automotive journey and despite them having different characteristics for each model, one thing that stood out in all of them was how fast they were. All of them. I fail to believe that Subaru would somehow take a large step backwards with the current model as performance on the mainstay of the brand.

The WRX is the reason I bought a 3.0R Spec B, the WRX is just too fast for an eccentric geriatric like me.

With respect to your belief that it feels slow, I believe you; even though thousands don't.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

and all i been saying is it feels slow mite be cause of the awd like my liberty feels slow but in that same point my lib is slow it could be alot of factors that come into play with it but i have driven wrx stis and stuff b4 and they didt feel slow even driven a evo b4 and that didt feel slow but the new wrx did i dont know why but it did

I'm tipping it's not the only thing that's slow in your everyday life.
