See that's the problem. They get smart people that know what they're doing to test it. Which is all well and good. Then they sell it tech-tards like me, and we can't use it.

Ha... don't worry.. hear that all day... wife just went off at me last nite coz each computer she's has in the last 6 months has broken, and she keeps losing her files and whatever... but I back them up on my USB... so she asked me last nite why she doesn't have a USB for her own backups...

Told her there are tonnes in the house, 2 thats I've given to her, and but she still doesn't know how to use them, so whats the point, and she keeps calling them UBS, so obviously she isn't going to get it... she went off at me coz she hates technology and thinks pen and paper is better, so I said fine, go for it, use your pen and paper then and you won't need a computer ever again.... 10 minutes later she is on my laptop surfing the net...

Tech is not hard, but its something you have to enjoy or know what you are doing even slightly...

Had an awesome opportunity to go in on some pig from a local, literally backyard pig status (sidenote: the marriage fell apart and he was unable to tend to his pigs as she got the house and put a restraining order on him, so the only option was slaughter - sad story, but you don't get more local pork than this) - so feeling as I've been slacking a bit in the kitchen recently, made up some rolled pork loin, wrapped in prosciutto, stuffed with spring onion, bacon, spinach and ricotta - chucked it over some rosemary cream mash tater's and made up a calvados sauce.

The sauce was 'amaze balls' - the pork was a bit... tough, but still, local as all pork/fork!

Spoilered for food photooooos

Spoiler

Its breakfast time and I'm drooling over that...

Yeah, I'm not exactly the technophobe I make myself out to be. But coding and shit is well and truly beyond me. I needed Richo and AMS to help me set up IMAP on Outlook.

Code can be fun, if I get into it...

I think I know where Ziggy is coming from. I have a similar situation with my mother, (not the wife and child part... that'd be weird) she knows next to nothing about using computers, she's in the realm of sending personal messages to customers on Facebook and posting them in the open area for all to see. When I try to explain something, I just can't, I have not got the patience for it. So it just ends up as an argument. Now when she has a computer problem, I make her leave the building so I can fix it.

I have found out recently to pretend I don't know anything about computers. Also I have decided not to do anymore cash in hand jobs for people that involve computers or electronics. You become a 24/7 hotline for those people.

I call AMS and Richo all the time. But I usually pay in alcohol so I don't think I'm stretching the friendship.

Haha... nah... she was not right yesterday... I tried to remember that she had her monthly visitor but it still pissed me off that she could fight with me about something that made no sense... LOL!

Oh well, it happens... some get it worse than others..

Ha... thank you... someone understands... lol... my mother just learnt how to text.. so she randomly sends me texts saying have a good day, or just some garbage... LOL!

I have found out recently to pretend I don't know anything about computers. Also I have decided not to do anymore cash in hand jobs for people that involve computers or electronics. You become a 24/7 hotline for those people.

Thats right... I used to work in a call center... but those people were fun... you could put your phone on mute and swear your head off at them... or put them on hold for ages till they f-off... lol

I call AMS and Richo all the time. But I usually pay in alcohol so I don't think I'm stretching the friendship.

See, I don't mind helping ppl who appreciate it, need it, are basically aren't douche-bags...

Thats why I don't mind if anyone on the forum wants help or ask questions about tech stuff... though a lot of people on here would know more than I do... AMS might be one of them.. maybe... LOL!

Just saw the new A-class in the flesh...

Firstly, dayummmmmm

Secondly, Lexus CT200H much?

I like to think of it as borrowing someone's car and driving it better than them.

75km in a straight line from home to get to the New England National Park, but because the road first heads North to go around the park before heading west then coming back down south it is 188km and a 2.5 hour drive LOL! Maybe I will camp the night up there.

Must be me but I have never found airport check ins to be a problem.
.

I'm not a retard, I don't find it difficult, I just hate queuing. I basically hate Joe public, and queuing requires me to be in close proximity to morons. As I'm about to get on a plane for the better part of 20 hours, the less time I spend with Joe public, the better.

Sig worthy.

Won't be my screaming baby so I genuinely don't care. If you think it's bad hearing someone else's baby crying on a flight, wait till its your own. 11tybillion times worse.

Sig worthy.

The 2 hour drive won't bother me at all :D it is a nice drive and has been years since I have been out there, it is the near 6 hour drive this Sat North that I am not looking forward too! LOL

I just have to remember to take some warm clothes, it isn't the worlds warmest area once you get up to the higher bits (overnight temps are usually in the negative)

Summer
  • The average temperature ranges between 10°C and 24°C
  • The area's highest recorded temperature in summer is 32.8°C

Winter
  • The average temperature ranges between 1°C and 12°C
  • The area’s lowest recorded temperature in winter is -7.1°C
