@Simon:
Pete doesn't like delvac because it's a diesel oil FULL and i mean FULL of detergents. (You need them to keep your dirty DIESEL engine operating correctly)
Petrol cars need lots of lubrication, Not detergents.
It doesn't burn up as much because it's a high temp diesel oil. I believe this is why some guys have made the switch. It's very cheap as well.
People love it in noisy boxers because it cleans the crap out of the engine, Making it seem like a magic oil.
I personally use Castrol GTX Professional 15-40 in my cars. Works well.
Diesel oil is made for diesels. Not your turbo subaru full of technology like AVCS, Fine in-line gauze filters and sensors everywhere for example.
