Hey guys. How do I get the brant working again after reconnecting the car battery? Internal siren goes off and I can't seem to get the pin to work.

Cheers.

Punch in your master code will reset it...or youre user code might do the trick if you are lucky....

If you ask subaru nicely they might charge you a little fee to reset it for you and they might give you the master code most of the time they dont.......if you dont want to pay then take it out... the keypad side....You learnt the hard way not to disconnect you're battery....

I disconnected my battery very recently to replace it with a new one. Nothing negative happened to me... Was I lucky?

I did the same like 2 weeks ago - but the battery wasn't disconnected it died almost completely while I was overseas. The only problem I had was that it went into Valet mode when the battery was jump started, then after the countdown of starts it asked for the code - I entered mine and back to normal. Nothing out of the ordinary with my regular alarm operation. I have a feeling the code I have is the master code for mine.

Yes if you have a backup battery keypad module for the brant nothing happens the earlier models didnt have the back up, so it needs the master code to reset the system.

Ah sweet. And where do I find my master code? Is it on a metal security tag-like thing?

Ahhh, well yeah mines an MY03 so I guess its the battery backup type. Still freaked the shit out and went into Valet mode on me, but oh well. Master code is acquired from Subaru - but as Morgan just said, you don't have Brant??? lol.

Subaru/Brant have them...wont be written with the car or unless the previous owner bought it brand new and had it, but even then chances are high of having you're own master code....I was fortunate i had the code to all mine as i have a contact that i can get it, but now they started to $$$$ for issuing it out

Barry, you don't have a B4 ;)

I assumed they'd have similar features.

Jovi, the guy I bought my car off did buy it brand new. I'm the second owner. When he gave me the keys, he had an envelope containing keys for the roof racks, tow bar and two security tag things (I think there were two). I have no idea what they're for.

So if i try that 0# thing, reconnect the battery and press 0, what does that allow me to do?

According to google. It should allow me to enter the pin and start the engine?

that will get you into valet mode and give you 9 starts. but you might trick it into punching youre code in...Also disconnect battery wait 5 min then reconnect and at the same time punch youre code in but you need two people for that...

Unfortunately most people wont post the correct way of getting around the code - I personally have forgotten. It is a security feature, but works so well it stops the owner from using the car. Happened so often now that most people just want the damn thing gone. I think mine is configured so that if the battery is disconnected it automatically jumps into valet mode.
