Heya, Finally got around to selling my car and finding a bike that I was keen on, test road the new kawasaki 250s and they were a big let down. Rode my mates old cbr250rr and I was a convert. The old cbr's have so much more character. Really raw ride, you hear the engine beneath you revving it's tits off, feel more connected to the road with the slightly wider tyres and can't go past the reliability of them. Picked up a 1992 cbr250rr in black/chrome. Imported, with no modifications at all 33k on the clock. Here are some pics

um, haven't really been able to test it out just yet taken it to around 13krpm though it red lines at 19k :D. Gave it a hit in first gear and it sure wants to pull you off the bike if you don't hold on. It's certainly not as quick as the wrx was but it's a totally different feeling as you could imagine.

0-100 in 5.2s which is not bad for a learner bike, 34kw 142kg.

Mate you should have ridden an RGV as they smoke CBR's. Oh and CBR1000rr's are only called fireblades. But its good that you are on two wheels.

Do they use Kevlar on road bikes? That stuff works awesome.

The RGV's aren't learner legal afaik, if i was going to break the law i'd have gotten a proper 600 or 1000. Very close to buying an 04 cbr600rr but took the sensible option. I've got an arai helmet which cost me a fortune, cheapy gloves and textile jacket but looking to get a better pair of gloves and jacket closer to winter. Rode without gloves and got blisters so there goes that idea. Not going to gear up with boots and pants for the road, if i track the bike sure.

Oh yeah I forgot that they went LAMS. Bummer. BTW you can't beat leathers. Get some knee sliders mate and use them.

I meant Kevar riding gear, rather than leather. It's lighter.

Kangaroo is used in race suits reinforced with kevlar. Its light and strong. Good gloves make a difference but an Arai helmet is really good. RX7 corsair FTW
