3-6k is accurate.
You can fix any paint with a spray can. Not even close. You can patch it up, but it will be far from what anyone should consider "Fixed".

i dunno man.... i've seen some pretty good jobs done with spray cans... so long as some serious effort is put in, at the very least a "passable" job can be produced... not talking autosarron quality here...

No it can't. Give it six months and you'll see why.

i'm not going to argue with you about this because doing so would be futile, mainly because you're in the industry...

but i'm also not going to say that i'm incorrect because there are people on rslib and ozlib that have painted panels and wheels and even a year later they paint is still in reasonable condition...

but it's never going to ever be as good as a pro job...

can we leave it at that?

Dude, "Mica" is the kind of flake in the paint. A plastic/glass bead. "Metallic" alludes to it having a Metallic flake in it. They're applied the same way.

paully reckons i'll be looking at upwards of $3-$4k for a full paint job/dent repair...

unless my memory is failing terribly...

That sounds right. I've got a mate who is doing the paint/panel work on the RS and the "new project".

but i'm also not going to say that i'm incorrect because there are people on rslib and ozlib that have painted panels and wheels

Have a good look at them in person and you'll see why a couple of those people are going to re-shell their cars. ;)
