For some reason Nik, I believe this... Seems like it is your way of doing things...I write it down on paper, then fax it to main HQ, and they type this out for me. I've never actually hit reply before.

Ahhhh yeah... but see, that is running Win8 while not running Win8 in essence... LOL! But meh, to each their own... I just love Win7... it is the next best thing after Win95... LOL!I'm running Windows 8 with Classic Shell. It avoids all the stupid start menu stuff. Not a bad interface.

At first I was like "oh cool... i got given a computer!"
But then I was like "leave it in its bag over the weekend, not worth pulling out for recreational purposes because it's so painful to use"

So true... thats why I thought "Oh hellz yeah" in my old job when we got given top of the line 17" MacBook Pros... insane specs on it... but then got put off OSX till we got told to get bootcamp on it, then couldn't have been happier...Toshiba was given to me by my current employer.

You'll get used to it.only issue i foresee is i use Windows at work, uni computers run windows, and then going home to use OSX (and if i fire up the toshiba at home its Windows 7 as well!) but i suppose i will get used to it!

It is frustrating at first, and that's where all the windoze faboiz go all spastic about the osx hate. It's just a matter of learning the os, and once you're comfortable and competent, you'll find its far more elegant and efficient.

It is a little hard to get used to running both side by side, since they are quite diff... I get confused sometimes with the diff keys... like I want to copy something, but I have to use Command C instead of Control C... simple things like that... and there is no right click button on the touchpad, but meh... its still good...only issue i foresee is i use Windows at work, uni computers run windows, and then going home to use OSX (and if i fire up the toshiba at home its Windows 7 as well!) but i suppose i will get used to it!

Yes there is. It's a two finger tap, or hold down "control" then tap.and there is no right click button on the touchpad, but meh... its still good...

Thats true.. and they each have the uses... and strengths... like the Macs are well known for their video and image editing capability, good for graphics people, while Developers and Testers who need a more widely used OS will have to use Windows, and depending on the machine, they need moar powaaaaa! You'll get used to it.

Yup, I know, but there isn't an actual button, so one finger click, 2 finger right click and 3 finger scoll... but there isn't a dedicated section on the touchpad, or a specific button for the right clickYes there is. It's a two finger tap, or hold down "control" then tap.

Worst thing I find is my daughter will go up to my laptop when I'm not there, press a whole bunch of key combinations and do some weird settings to the laptop and then leave, and when I come to use it, I don't know how to undo what she did... LOL! Then she does her evil baby laugh...

Toshiba has been shit for yeaaars.
I don't understand why big companies use them pretty much exclusively for their reps and what not.
Every time a sales person comes out they set up their Toshiba, and they always get a coffee while it's loading up. Haha.
It's the same as anything though. You throw a shit slow hard drive and a badly set up operating system in a mac and it will perform like crap. "Toshiba's" are not crap....from the factory they are CHEAP and set up cheaply. I have a toshiba which I have tweaked a few things in and it boots and does everything I need it too pretty much instantly.
They are not two like things that you're comparing.
*rant not @ you nik, this is a general comment.
Ugh i could ramble on for forking days about this stuff.
