you could possibly just plug the logic for the screen (no panel) in. it might just want to see a load on that video head.

I would have just put an old line jack into the headphone port then once in windows set default audio output device to HDMI. Unless it was an onboard speaker, but that usually mutes the soundcard.

Also XBMC ftw.
