Surely there are 215/45/17's in reasonable brands to be had at a decent price Jon? I wouldn't chance even 225's with stock struts and guards, mind you, I haven't owned a gen 3, but 225/45/17's scrubbed the shocks on my mates car (and one of my oldies too)

1st 1990 Nissan Pulsar Q. What a rocket!
2nd: Gen 2 RX... Loved and lost...
3rd: 1995 Toyota Corolla which drove from Cairns to Bunbury in 5 Days! 6610km!!! didnt miss a beat.
4th: Gen1 GX bought for $500 went like stink... looked like what caused the stink
5th: More civilized now... with a Heritage Wagon... now gone...
6th Mitsubishi KJ Verada..."its nothing like a suby" now gone...
7th: 2002 B4 Liberty TT....

Oh yeah, Sled is finally 'cat-less'. Welding 1mm Chinese Stainless was fun.

 

Gonna paint the whole Zorst black. Also...will Satin Black look 'clean' for an engine bay? The whole engine bay.

chin up Adam, it took me like 3 years to get my apprenticeship, i must have applied for atleast 50 in that time. just keep applying for places if you really want one, Plenty of other industries pay just as much as mines ;)

235/45-17 is a forking big tyre for a GenIII, I wouldn't do it.

That's a Commodore size.
