Awesome goal by Robin van Persie to give United the win over Arsenal yesterday morning, 1-0. What a machine!

That was an awesome shot. Came from Manchester United so learned from the best. ;)

How did I miss Sunderland beating Man City??!! Sunderland are in relegation. Just goes to show, you've got to turn up and play in the Premier League.

Sig worthy.

Bloody oath.

Well done to the Socceroos in beating Costa Rica earlier tonight! Cahill ended up giving the boys the edge and we won the friendly 1-0. I didn't get a chance to watch the game but Costa Rica aren't too bad especially when you compare some of the losses the Socceroos have had in recent years. Well done lads!

Yeah was alright mate, quite a few nervous moments but we needed the win. Not sure if it was just a bad day for Costa Rica though.. Hopefully this is the start of something new under Ange, but it could easily have the ass blow out. Good to see Jedinak getting some decent football in as well, after a pretty dodgy start he did well ... has previously played pretty woeful for the socceroos.

How's Lucas firing up at the crowd?!

I must admit I did not watch the game and only saw updates from my iPhone as I had SES training last night, but from what I heard, they did alright. I do hope Ange takes us to all new heights as well. He seems like a pretty decent coach to be honest.

Portugal have also sealed their spot in the World Cup after beating Sweden 2-3! :D

Amazing stuff by Cristiano Ronaldo who managed to score all three goals! A forking amazing hat-trick. I can't wait to watch the game! :D

RIP any hope of Australia advancing past the group stage in the world cup

Even if we somehow scrape second we will most likely go up against Brazil in the next round :(

Definitely a shit group to be in to say the least, but I'll support them all the way through and wish them the best of luck. We have a chance at beating Chile, but Netherlands and Spain, I highly doubt unfortunately. :(

Portugal have an awesome chance to progress as they have been drawn against Germany, Ghana and USA. Germany will be our main threat but I really do feel we'll have it over Ghana and USA. Here's to hoping all goes well! :D

So the Socceroos coped another tough group. Nevermind. To be the best, yoube got to play and beat the best. Being there is the most important thing for Australian soccer.

That's the way Brett! It'll really give us a test, and who knows, like we did last World Cup they might be surprised when two completely different styles of play are matched against each other. Netherlands are a typical strong European team, Spain have their tiki-taka and Chile are your typical South American team with their awesome ball skills and joga bonito.

It's gonna be a good World Cup! I can't wait!

Are spain as strong as they used to be??
I agree with you Gary. The Australian way of football is so much different to anyone else. They have to play their usual physical game. And look to score.

Sig worthy.

Spain have been on and off in their recent matches, I mean, they lost to South Africa last month, drew against Chile and lost to Brazil (obviously). I don't know what the reasons behind it was, but I assume it only had to do with giving the bench a go on the field. Obviously they're not gonna play their best players in international friendlies and stuff, but still. Australia just has to do their research and play their physical game. We were hard done by against Italy back in the day, it's time to turn that page and make it count this time.

Brazil are gonna be the team to watch. They've got youth in the squad and they're all pretty much big stars in their clubs. Neymar is gonna be a rocket! I do hope Portugal progress as we've got a top squad. If we can play like we did against Sweden in both home and away games, we'll make it to the semi-finals at least.

Another loss at home by Manchester United against Newcastle. I'm sorry Moyes, but it's time to go. The players need a kick up the ass as well. I can't believe it. I haven't seen such a bad run by United for as long as I remember!

I must admit that that last long range goal was epic. Well done. At least you're helping out Manchester United to get closer up there. :P
