Just Plasti Dip my outback with Matte clear, The outback is standard white when I started. The outcome looks like satin white now what do you think ?

Hi,

Nice work for getting in there and doing it, but for me I have no idea why you've done it.

Cheers,

Nik

The out had a lot of swirl mark all over it, as it's 13 years old as the previous owner most probably used steel wool to clean the car hahaha.  also wanted the Matte look and this was the cheapest was to do so.

Hi,

It looks like you've done a great job on it, and if it's your desired result, even better!

Certainly unique! Enjoy.

Cheers,

Nik

I can dig it.

The only things that would concern me is the durability of the stuff and how much of a mission it would be to remove once the novelty wears off.

Im with BOSSKONG

Looks great now but potentially could look like crap in the future.

If it is full of swirl marks, a good cut and polish will fix that as it looks like a clean and straight car.

Props for thinking outside the square though.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

RX25SE, BOSSKONG, if you put down enough layers the Plasti Dip comes of with ease, More then 5 coats would be fine. Thought I'll test the stuff out, because i've got coats on should be easy to take off once it starts looking crap.

Photo's taken at Glebe skatepark today.

From this angle the texture in the paint can't be seen. I'm really liking how the Matte clear turned out on the bottom half on the outback

Here is a before picture

From this angle, if you look at the front door you can see texture coming out.

Did you do the whole car or just the bottom half?

Matte white is getting pretty common now :P

Now that I've driven it under different lighting the bonnet has a lot of texture all over it. anyone know how to fix it, my first time spraying so any input on how to rectify it would be great.

That is just what Plasti Dip from a spray can does on large areas. You can make it less obvious by doing a LOT of coats. My bonnet and roof have about 12 I think.

Surprisingly well actually. I only wash it once a week and it comes up as good as new, even after all the ash from the fires. The only part that is stained is on the bumper just above the exhaust which I'm going to touch up today.
