Is this correct? Because when I looked this issue up it said if it idles fine the valve is on its way out.... So if it idles rough its meant to be working right.

You will know when the PCV is on its way out cause you will loose manifold pressure and you will be able to hear it squealing cause the gasket on it is rubbish. Just a personal note too I wouldn't be putting any aftermarket engine cleaner through a VW cause they reject any and all products that are not genuine like a bad kidney.

What kinda engine cleaner we talking about? Like the ones you run through with the oil to clear sludge? or the intake cleaners like Subaru Upper engine cleaner? Cause I ran some of that through over the weekend before I changed the oil.

Okay what does VW use?

I don't think I have ever been given such mixed opinions on a car lol, Everyone over on the VW forums say they have used it all the time and never had a issue. Some use the Seafoam, non have said anything about the VW equivalent.

I may just stop using it and take the intake off myself and clean it. I will do some more reasearch into it haha.

Pretty much have heard the same info as that thread. So I guess I will continue to do it, I don't really see how it can hurt the engine even if it doesn't take all of it off.

Thanks for that link though mate, had not seen that. But have seen many stating they use Subaru UEC all the time and no one saying their car died.

Yeah rear ended the the wife at a red light, Broke his roo bar. He freaked out when he saw that my wife had a belly, Lucky it was before my son was born so he wasn't in a child seat.

I was without the car for 3 weeks though, Will have to get a photo of it now fixed. They did a pretty good job but I has over spray from another car they painted all over the one sides windows.

Congratulations on your baby coming into the world mate.

Sucks to hear about the crash, but shit happens I guess. At least everyone involved was OK. Did they fix up the overspray free of charge?

Nah I didn't take it back to them as it was mostly on the windows so I just cleaned it off myself.

Fair enough then. So long as it all came off then I guess there is no harm done. I'd still give them a call so it doesn't happen to future customers I guess.
