How you go with this?

I have done it once on the original Liberty 2.5 motor, and again on the EJ205 motor before putting it in the car. On the Liberty motor I did it at my dads house just to have another set of eyes on it as I had never done anything like it before. But its very simple stuff as long as you make sure everything is lined up right. I also did the valve cover gaskets at the same time.

It has given me the confidence to DIY alot of other things.

I've done a few, it's fiddly but like everyone has said just take your time and rotate the engine by hand a couple of times when done to make sure all the timing is correct. If you can lock the cam gears together to stop them moving it will make it easier also. I would recommend getting a belt with the timing marks on it, I did mine and it didn't have any and it was a pain in the ass. Much easier with marks.
