Hi,

So the idea of having a 'club car' popped into my head. I can bank roll a fair bit of the money, but I really want the skills of the board to come together. So it makes sense to build the car in NSW.

Any ideas would be great.

I have $10K to drop. If anyone else wants to drop in, we can talk.

GO

Cheers,

Nik

This sounds interesting and could be a good idea... Have you got any suggestions Nik or is this idea completely fresh?

A dumped 20psi Baja would turn heads.

From a quick google you would need to bring one over from the states, they were built there.

Baja would be sick.

Not very cost friendly though.

$10k for Baja

$8k in import fees (freight, tax, etc etc)

$10k for RHD conversion, STi enjin + 6speed?

You could could build a monster Brumby or something for $30k...

I like to think of it as borrowing someone's car and driving it better than them.

If you're talking power and 6 speeds, I've heard the old subframes are weak as fork.

Cool. It doesn't have to be too much power I guess, or even a six speed.

I want it to be cool though.

This is serious, I want to drive it as a charity car and get donations across Australia. I already have some other backers.

This IS happening. I think building it in NSW is the best bet. We can go through the idea better when I'm there in a couple of weeks?

Sports wagon, + lifted + more modern reliable enjin. Possibly early WRX if you want turbos!

:fork: the six speed idea. Too much money.

But really good suspension, rims, and a reliable engine.

Why not just get an outback and cut the roof off it, and make it a Baja.

Heaps cheaper.

:)

I put up with people from amnesty, red cross and now the cancer council almost daily hounding me!! Throw in the greens, green peace, unhcr, save the forking children and I've well and truly hit my limit for the number of fuckstains wanting me to sign something or give money. Seriously cubts,  :fork: right off.
