No rust... only dents... you want rust, you pay extra

 

Zac, There are plenty of B4's out there that are still on the original motor but, as you know, big ends are a known issue. As you are only experiencing an oil leak, chances are the big ends are still OK....for now.

 

With that sort of Kms on it, the issues associated with that model, the age of the car and it's current market value I would be prepared to bail out of it at a moments notice.

Thanks Jase... will consider this... if it has to be sold, then I guess it has to go... especially if Megan is going to drive it, or if I'm driving with baby, last thing I want is a dead engine, stuck somewhere

Sorry to hear Zac, but are you sure its the HG? I would get it confirmed before freaking out. If its a small oil leak as someone said it might just be the valve cover seals, they are a crappy rubber thing.

 

I am taking these 2 days off because we get the 27th off apparently. Last week was nuts learning the new job, but the amount of money that just went into my account made it worth it

 

Mines running great atm, the only annoyance is that after its been parked in the summer heat for a day it doesn't like to crank without holding the ignition for a bit. Fine in the mornings, afternoons after work it wont fire as easily. But its probably just the high ron fuel etc as usual.

3 days leave gives me just over a week straight of holidays.
