Hey guys!

Proud to be the new owner of my first ever Suby, Gen 3 Rx Liberty :) and yes pictures will come soon.

I was just wondering to those of you who have changed your gear-knob and cloth how you did it and is it worth the effort.

look forward to being involved on these forums, I spent hours trawling through all of the stuff this week

Andy

edit: apologies for incorrect spelling in title, I don't know how to go back and change it!

Welcome to SubyClub mate, can't wait to see the pics. This place is definitely the best place I've found for anything Subaru. You're likely to stick around and be as active as I have been over the past year or so. ;)

Wanting to buy/looking for: single genuine STi rim, genuine STi front lip, Corazon or Zero/Sports grille and another OEM grille

Can you hook a brother up? Please contact me now. I have cash ready.

Knob is just a twist on and off. You'll need to pop it out of the little socket it sits in, in the gear boot.

Gen 3's a a pain to change the boot. It's secured to the trim piece with tiny toothed washers. The trim tabs WILL snap! In the end, I just hot glued the new boot to the trim and it was fine. No one knew any different ;)

I bought my boot from Redline goods.

Highly recommend.

hmmm maybe it wont be so hard after all, in the link barbachello linked they just use spray adhesive but surely that'snot strong enough or i didn't read it properly

Yeah the spray adhesive is only there to keep it located to the trim ring and even that isn't required. The press fit clips hold it all together. It's really a simple job with a bit of patience.

Yeah all but one of my trim tabs snapped off. I still haven't glued it to the plastic yet.

Yeah front bumper and mirrors are plastidip.

I wouldn't be plasti dipping an aftermarket bumper though, what do you think a similar thing would look like on a stock bumper, just that middle part, here's a link to my car btw http://www.subyclub....gen-3-rx-wagon/

Oh, just saw your thread. We have different revisions. Yours is a rev a-c, mine is a rev d-e. Not aftermarket.

There have been a few people who have done a similar thing to the bumper you have, it looks great. Definitely do it!
