hi guys,

question on coilovers...

the new wagz needs some new suspension... now i was innitially thinking billies and pink combo...

but the mrs wants us to tow a lil camp trailer with it...

would coilovers provide a better option with being able to adjust the back to compensate for the extra load etc? are there any down falls to this...

i screwed 2 sets of rear buddy club coilovers in my wrx from towing a jetski and dirtbike.

just kept blowing then causing leaks.

it towed well, firmness was good just didnt last long.

Have you put any more thought into squeezing some more power out of the engine. Like strapping on one of those intake fans

hmm thats food for thought... it wouldnt be towed more than twice a year... but still... might be some billies...

anyone know the load rating of the pinks? or can you get something that is similar to the pinks but with a more suitable spring rate?

I tow a jet ski quite a lot with my Pedders and they seem to be holding up fine.

Aside from a caravan, I wouldn't see the weight of a trailer hitched to the back of a car to be any different from loading up the boot with an equivalent weight.

the boot will sadly be loaded up with stuff... but i guess the majority will be in the trailer..

If you load your trailer correctly by distributing the weight evenly you shouldnt have a problem. If they have adjustable dampeners just make sure they are set to soft so they 'give' a bit better

Personally Id go with BC V1's or Tein Super streets or whatever the equivalent is now. Unless you are tracking the car a lot it's pointless getting anything more then that.

I have Pedders SportsRyder eXtreme XA Coilovers. Towed a heavy ass trailer with a few bikes on it over highways and rocky bush roads. Went well. Previous owner (Cam J) towed something once also.

Going to be towing a boat back from the central coast this sunday also.

I will however, set the dampeners to a softer setting as suggested above.

i am thinking about picking up Nik's JDM Billies and pinks... think this might just be less of a muck around...

however i am hearing good things about the pedders coil-overs... substantiated rumors?

Pedders coilovers are no different to bc racing or kido coilovers.
