Alright so my phone doesn't seem to be charging properly now. I left it charging all night, when I try and boot it into download mode to connect it to the computer I get a red message telling me battery is too low to enter download mode. My travel insurance is coming through with $320 for my phone so I'll probably pick up a nexus 5 soon...Unless anyone has any other suggestions for a new phone? I had a HTC One so don't really want anything 'worse' than that.

For the money it's damn good value.
I'm considering a Xperia Z1 Compact for my next phone.

Yeah I'm still on the contract for my last one so I'm buying outright, don't really want to drop 7-800 on a phone so I guess what I'm asking is there anything that compares to the nexus 5 for a similar price?
Waterproof phone would be nice though haha

I reckon a Nokia 3110 would be a suitable replacement...
HTC have lost the plot lately.
I work for a Government Department here in Tassie and I look after our fleet of mobile phones. (around 200 handsets)
over 130 of them are now touchscreen devices of varying ages, from the HTC DesireC, OneS, Sammy S2, S3, S4 Nexus 4 and 5
Guess which two models of handset (making up 1/4 of the total fleet) have not had one instance of needing to go back for warranty....

I guess it depends on what features you find valuable.

My nexus five is dope
what's the battery life like Nik?
^ just that it has the screen resolution of a 2010 phone.
lol this, sorry zac I'd rather have the resolution
Robb, I didn't have any problems with my HTC in the ~8 months I owned it. But I can't comment beyond that

I see a full 2 days out of my Nexus 5 when on WiFi at work and home, and 4G in between
3G/4G only it gets a full day

No.
It's better than the Nexus4 camera.
And explain why it's a let down...?
Who says so..? some hipster blogger who's going to ruin a nice photo with some stupid instagram filter anyway...?
I have a Canon DSLR and 'L' Series lenses if i want a quality picture...

Hi,
Reduced quality to web standard; taken on Nexus5
Really don't see any problem?
Cheers,
Nik
