how much does the government make?

38c/L - PLUS GST!

I know, I know.

The entire pricing structure is based around essentially the hypothetical of how much the fuel would cost if it were indeed imported here, rather than refined here. They call it 'parity pricing calculator' or some shit like that. They run a rolling average over a two week course that settles price volatility day to day.

When the price goes up, and the ground is full, that's where you can see a 4/5c margin, because you've bought the fuel already - yet the price can be put up running the parity calculator.

My information is out of date, but I cannot see it being any different. Trying to find a website that wasn't made by monkeys.

You'll actually find Australia is pretty low on the amount the Government takes in the global scheme of things.

AHHH!

Here you go;

http://www.aip.com.a...Fuel_Market.htm

This is pretty up to date, too. Looks like it's all the same. I wasn't so sure it was that closely linked to just Singapore. But anyway.

I will stop talking, because that link covers the shit out of it.

  • A small proportion of the pump price (3-5%) is received by fuel retailers to cover these costs and leave a small margin. ACCC analysis shows retail sector net profit on petrol over the last 10 years averaged 1 cent per litre.

Next time you get pissed off at the petrol station; remember this.

i don't get pissed at the petrol station, if they can make a living of that small margin can't the government?

but looking at what other countries get taxed, it could be worst :)

I couldn't think of many things that would hurt more than if she bit into that and then gobbled on my cock straight away.
