Does anyone know if a 5 speed from a 99 GX will fit into my 02 RX?

Thanks,
Jack

I'm 99% sure that they will be the same gearbox.

Yeah will be fine, aslong as they both have the same amount of bolt holes.

Id check the ratio. Have the feeling the GX will be 3.9 where as the RX wil be 4.11

Thanks guys!
What is the effects of that ratio difference?
I have a GX lined up for about 1k to transfer some parts. And I know the gearbox on this is immaculate.

Gota swap the rear diff also, otherwise you will burn out your centre diff.

It probably would rev slightly lower at speed.

Hmmm doesn't sound worth it tbh. I just want a new gearbox so I can put the car on the market.
It won't sell for anything more than 1.5-2k with the gearbox on it's way out. I figure I fix it for a few hundred and sell the car for 4-5k

Cheers for the info guys.

rear diff swap is under an hours job
much easier than a gearbox swap
