lol I pulled the rubber straight off after the photo - just left it on to help you punters identify which key it was.

Still haven't done anything here haha

Has anyone ever retro fitted everything into a flip key?

Yeah Gen 2's got crappy IR remote locking. Only works when you're already at the door :P

Reprogramming the transponder is easy and there are DIY's around the internet. Screw paying $300 for Subaru to do it. I have done it to my XT after I installed a new BCM. Took me 10 seconds.

Mine no longer works after the conversion, or after it got broken into. I have tried all those directions on the net and have not been able to program the FOB to work agian. It will lock the doors but unlock them again right away.

Did you unplug the connector afterwards?

So subaru @ narellan told me they can't supply the rubber only. I will have to buy a new key including coding for at least $500..

Seriously? It's like saying tyres only cant be replaced, you must purchase a brand new wheels package..

Yo man, you can get a key shell off ebay and transfer the electronics over, along with the fob. So much less hassles.

...and then reprogram yourself.

It takes about 10 seconds in the Forester - I imagine the Liberty would be similar?
