Love that smell of coolant when your driving.......

Pulled into a Bunnings I was luckily passing, popped the bonnet and found this. ..

20150828_161207_zpslvzsrhih.jpg

Top pipe was brittle and snapped off under the clamp and the hose popped off. Luckily enough pipe to refit top hose, bought a watering can from Bunnings and refilled.

New radiator, top and bottom hoses and thermostat on Monday.

Just like a Commodore! :P

Lucky you caught it early.

Why new radiator?

You could just replace the top tank, but the rest of the radiator will be unreliable.

For the cost of a core clean and a top tank, you can usually buy a new radiator and have change left over.

Whoops. I had bit of a comprehension fail. I read top pipe and thought top hose was brittle. Got it.

Just replaced my glovebox. Scratches above the handle just used to bug the shit out of me. Last thing on the interior that I wanted to change / fix. :)

I like the auto for daily driving / cruising, always have, especially when stuck in traffic. The tiptronic isnt too bad if you want to select a gear manually. I drove the Great Ocean Road recently with it in manual mode and used the steering wheel controls.

The Gen 2 was a 4.44 V6 STi 5 speed, 2.5L and VF34P20 with a JDM V3 STi ecu. Quite a different car to drive. Id love to put that driveline in the GTB. :D

New Koyorad radiator, top, bottom hose's and thermostat fitted.

Gotta love the radiator funnel kits for bleeding the air out with zero mess.
