I have never gone to Centrelink for anything in my life. I prefer not to, and I guess I've been privileged not to have to either.

The reality is no where near as good as I had imagined, but still, would bang.

 

Josh, soup is easy as. Just buy a good stock (like Maggie Beer or Similar) Add your choice of Vegies or whatever, cook it for ages, then blend the fork out of it. Season to taste. I find if you are doing a Veg soup, cook the vegies seperate to the stock first to concentrate their flavour, then bash into the stock.  You nearly can't stuff it up.

I was like that once, then I ended up unemployed for 7 months.

Hopefully you never have to use them, but sometimes you have to swallow your pride.

By no means is it pride, I just find it motivation to actively find a job on my own. I guess I get more satisfaction out of doing things myself. Of course I'd go there within reason especially if I was unemployed for a few months.

 

I guess I don't have mortgages and other big commitments that come up in my daily life at the moment so it's easy for me to have such an opinion.

Also, my parents earn too much for me to be able to get any sort of Centrelink benefit. I still live at home.

Without a fulltime job. March 2013.

 

Spent most of that time living on savings and taking as a bit of a break because I didn't really get much time off between high school and now.

 

I really didn't want to go on centrelink but it got to the point where I had trouble finding work and needed the help.

And that's exactly why it's there man, for people like yourself to take advantage of such a service for the right reasons. Stick in there. Something will eventuate. It's just tough getting work anywhere nowadays. I've been applying for about a month or so, seriously applying within the past week, and nothing has come up for me either. I'm starting to get fed up but staying motivated at the same time if you know what I mean.

 

I don't feel sorry for anyone that uses it for the wrong reasons, and continually abuses the service in place of people who need it and rely on it so much.

I resisted using it for ages till I thought well I payed my taxes all those years I did have work. I'm getting a tiny bit of casual work at the moment but its only been like 1 shift a week.
