I have found these bosch O2 sensors but need to know whether they're suitable to replace the ones in my 2001 Outback.

Use Gen only. Seen heaps of problems with non gen ones. More so Gen 4s . If you dont have access to decent scan tool stay away.

Second this. We used a non genuine on my brothers gen 4 and had plenty of trouble with the CEL staying on. We were told a universal one would be ok for the post cat 02 sensor but for the pre cat one, which is actually an air/fuel sensor(slightly different to an 02 sensor), genunine is the only way to go

An air fuel ratio sensor is VERY different to a O2 sensor.

A/F sensor works on current, not voltage.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

Use Genuine yes, but order them from the US like most guys on here do.

They're like $400 from your local dealership.

I like to think of it as borrowing someone's car and driving it better than them.

Front O2 sensor is like $440 from Subaru aus. Cost me $210 delivered from the states, genuine.
