Opposed forces is so general in nature that the likelyhood or getting a correct part number is about 30-50%

I'm doing pretty well then, I've got a 100% strike rate.

So does your percentage of "getting a correct part number" go up now? I assume your keeping tabs of how accurate everyones order's are.

Also, has a dealer ever got the wrong part even with a VIN?

I know I have.

I've worked out a system between opposedforces (drill down via eu rhd models for adm).

Then cross checking on the russian sites (part # search in google images usually).

The latter is also where JDM specific info can be found ;)

Its not for everyone but I love the process.

It can be used to check for part/model intercompatibility as well.

I keep and tag book marks using the getpocket browser plugin.

Between those sites and the FSM's on SLI.net one can be very sorted.

As a backup I've developed a contact at Makin and Luby for deeper intel.

I'm sure some creative googling will reveal a JDM specific site too.

If I need a VIN for a specific model I ask a mate at a Suby main dealership, or an owner via pm on the many forums I contribute to.

Changing out the last couple of numbers is enough to maintain privacy afaik.

As far as I know, this is my vehicle on OF: http://opposedforces...en_b13/type_36/

I've found the same similar page on the russian sites which have even more detail and info.

Do this at your own risk of course ;)

no vin no parts in a vast majority of dealerships

Ha.

Must be shitty dealerships then. As someone above said most Aust dealers are assholes anyways - who don't want to sell parts as it turns out.

Well the part I ordered through partsouq.com arrived today. Only took 7 business days which is pretty damn good considering it came from UAE. Got it for more then half the price subaru dealerships are charging.
