Hey ladies/gents.

Do any members in Newcastle/The Central Coast have a Liberty B4 with a 110% stock exhaust system fitted? (Mainly interested in sussing out the workings of the rear mufflers valve actuator/Taking some pictures so I can fabricate something)

xoxo

Im guessing you have seen this article?

http://www.autospeed...le.html?&A=1242

"An electronically controlled rear muffler is used to keep the B4 quiet at low road speeds. The pipe that leads into the rear muffler is divided in two, with one pipe equipped with a flapper valve. The ECU - working with an actuator and cable - opens this valve when travelling at medium-to-high road speeds. This increases exhaust gas flow."

I know how it works.

I want to see how it's mounted and the motor that moves it.

Thanks Chris :P

Thanks for the input!

It's a bizzare system. Man it sounds good when they open up though!

My old GTB had the system but had a Fujitsubo muffler on it. The morons who installed the exhaust in Japan just left the wire hanging out and the actuator installed.

Hey mate,

I have just fitted a HKS rear section but the exhaust is otherwise stock (and I still have the original Subaru rear section). It's a Legacy though, not sure if that's different to AUDM.

Mark

edit: I'm up near Newcastle airport.

Im 10mins out of Gosford. If you are still looking for one, I might have my stock muffler in the shed? Ill have a look if you want. It might have been thrown out though.

Pretty useless system but a good idea lol.

Played around with it, and it made some small changes to spool and top end depending when you set it to open up.
