Had a win today.

 

Scored an old 'Milners fire safe' that was made between 1857 and 1890.

 

Nice looking antique but it is unbelievably heavy! So heavy I had to crowbar it into the trailer after parking the trailer in such a way I could get the tailgate to hit the ground. Fkn thing even broke the wheels of my trolley and took over an hour to shift.

 

Now its home I have no idea how I will get it off the trailer nor what to do with it. I might have to take a peek under the house to see if I have to brace the sub floor to take the weight, if i decide to bring it inside.

 

Didn't think it through......

Haven't got a photo Nik as its sitting on it's side in the trailer facing the wrong way.

 

If you google 'Milner 212 fire safe' and look for a black square corner one (later ones had rounded corners) with a round brass plaque you kinda get the idea.

 

Will post pics when I can get it upright.....

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

....... or when the chemist phones to tell me the pics are ready.
