I reckon Subaru won't be far off bring the Levorg to Aus through the dealer network soon anyway, especially considering the changes to import laws yesterday, in which case all the dealer support will come with.
It would be interesting though, to see if Subaru AUS would warrant a personally imported model, vs a locally bought model. I don't think they would, similar to what happened when people started importing GTRs to Aus, before they got sold locally. Heard a few cases where they blew gearboxes, and the $20k replacement wasn't covered under warranty as it wasn't locally purchased.
They alrwady flagged the fact that warranties won't apply as cars won't be covered under Aus consumer laws.
It's also been identified as only really being of help to luxury car buyers.
Using the Levorg as an example, the vehicle would still need to comply to Aus Standards, and you would need to import parts or use generic cross model parts, but I doubt Subaru Dealership Servicinh would touch it.
It will be 2yrs before we even see the draft legislation so I guess a lot more will come out between now and then.
