I like to think of it as borrowing someone's car and driving it better than them.

It's from the Chinese Govt. In recognition for all the secrets I sold them.
It's pretty nice.
Neat!!! Don't drop it, it will probably break

He also wants it auto, which is not what you want when offroading.
I think the same, but I used to work with a bloke who does off-road driver training and he recommends autos as they are better at climbing. Not sure how they go on the way down though. I guess you just push the 'hill decent' button and let the compuders do the rest......
We're probably hiring.
Do you have to know about cars and stuff?
If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

Lol.
Probably need some knowledge.

From tyre thread...........
Really? Who said?
Any tyre will feather if the toe in is not set correctly.
Often when a car is aligned after fitting new tyres, the alignment gets forked up. The tyre wear on the RB is fine, so when I fit new tyres it will not be going anywhere near an alignment machine.
Looks like the HTRZ Sumitomo is only available in a 225/40-18.

I'm no expert, but I am fairly knowledgeable.
You work for Subaru right? I have no qualifications to become a mechanic or detailer so sales would be the only option from that list.
Gaz, off to the GT as we are way off topic.

Realistically you should follow the tyre placard, but most don't.
So long as you retain the minimum load and speed ratings, keep the overall diameter close to original and do not exceed the minimum and maximum recommended tread widths for the rim all is fine.
Ours run a 215/45-18 on a 7" rim as std. Fitting a 225/40-18 is fine but its slightly smaller diameter will increase the inaccuracy (std they are 9% out) of the speedo. You could also go a 225/45-18 which is slightly larger and will reduce the speedo error.
Bear in mind that load/speed ratings change as size changes and can go down as size goes up.

It might be something I wouldn't mind taking on. I can obtain a job in Toyota/Lexus too as my uncle is a manager of the dealership in Canberra. It's just not the career I'm specifically targeting, but you can't knock it till you try it.

Wow, and using the 225/45 R18 sizes, my tyre selection from Bridgestone alone goes from two tyres to eight... I wouldn't go a smaller diameter, but I would go a little bigger if it means I can save some cash and still maintain safety and improve the speedo error. Thanks for the info Jase. I didn't know a lot of that.

No probs.
Take a look over at .asn. There are always cubts over there arguing about what size tyre to fit to one rim.

Ha ha, I get bored of trolls too quickly though but I'll have a dig. I'm gonna try and stick with 215/45, but if I can get a better deal on tyres that are 225/45 then I'll go for 'em. There's a tyre warehouse near Liverpool so hopefully they can hook me up. I've just sent them an email.
On other news, anyone being badly affected by the rain and wind?

Gary,
If you are running the Sti rims 18x7.5 the 225s are perfect.

I have no clue on the STi dimensions, but they are definitely the rim I'm getting the tyres for so I can finally put them on my car.

Lol would that be the same dealer that called me half way through a test drive of a landcruiser telling us not to stall or turn the car off, because they had held onto the wireless key fob? haha
