That is all you had to say lol.

Engine rebuild once a week, right?

I like to think of it as borrowing someone's car and driving it better than them.

How much does a second hand engine cost?

$2k

I'd use it as an opportunity to drop a STi engine in, but probably more difficult on a H6 setup.

Time to give ICHIban a call.

I'm gonna go with the H6 again. The last thing I want to do is muck around any further should it clash with anything.

That's it. It's just the decision on whether to get a new engine and all the formalities involved with that or to just go with getting another car.

Mine wasn't too bad, because NA, but some of the turbo guys, always had the engine out for something. On cruises, at least 1 car would die before we got back.

Sux to hear Gaz. Yeah you could drop another H6 in or get a TBSTi in there? But yeah, the cost. :(

I'm in the process of getting quotes so I'll see what my options are.

This is looking to be an expensive feat.

$5,500 from my local mechanic. Everything included.

$4,000 from another place. Everything included. Engine has 81,000 km on it.

Waiting to hear back from ICHIban.

Up to $3,500 from ICHIban. Engine has 92,000 km on it.

Hmmmm you're right, doesn't sound cheap, but think about this, how much can you sell your non-running wagon for, and how much is the new car you want to get? Is the gap more than $3,500?

If it's a Gen IV, then no chance. I know what my choice is straight away from the quotes I have been given.

Shit go Gaz sorry to hear. The 92,000km engine from Ichiban, does the price include giving it its major service before it goes in?

Hope everything goes smoothly for you from here. :/

Yeah. I think that'll be the smartest thing to do. It's too soon to be spending more money on another car.

I didn't ask but I don't think it would be. I'll ask those questions when I call back to confirm everything. Towing is gonna cost me $220 from Petersham (where the car is now) to ICHIban so that's not too bad at all.

Another thing to top it all off, my rego is due in a couple of weeks too.
