Is the self employment opportunity something you can work on while still doing the sales role? You'll probably find that the sales role offers some flexibility around working hours etc.

Did you know that your customers will be way more...comfortable not sitting in a fucking 50 degree office, tint the windows you fuck. You're hurting animals as well, which is exactly what your profession is against.

 

You might as well be running a puppy farm here by not tinting your windows, mate.

Here's a conundrum for ya lads.

So a bird I know heard wind that I was leaving NAB, and called me today to offer me a job, at a dog company called Royal Canin. Its basically an executive sales gig selling vet-grade dog/cat food to vets who then on-sell it to clients.  Pays 90k + company car, and close-ish to home. (About 30min drive)

 

Do I go for the interview, even though I've made the call to go self-employed full time? Gut is telling me no, head is telling me yes, and missus is telling me no, and just to focus on SUYT instead.

Yeah I really wanna do the SUYT thing. As I said to you on the weekend Hazmat, its a quality of life thing for me.

I thought going into my current job that I would have a better quality of life than retail. I sure was wrong about that :/

Without stepping on to many toes here.... But you are all in your in 20's and early 30's why not put in the hard yards now and set yourself up for later in life rather the worry about 'quality of life'

Yeah that's all well and good to be able to do what you want when you want now but I have seen a lot of people I've grown up with the same attitude and the majority are struggling with kids and renting houses with no financial security.

Obviously this just my opinion and not having a dig at anyone.

I used to work myself flat out, never taking time off or sick days, working overtime, thinking similar, plan for the future, but at the same time, you have to wonder what's around the corner, unexpected things happen, so why not try and at least balance it.

True, I know I'm basing my opinion on my own situation. I know if I keep doing my 6 day weeks for the next ~5yrs I'm going to be in the position I can just cut back to a shorter work week that suits me and that's it. I also have the benifent of a family business behind me to help with that.
