Licensed restaurants MUST BY LAW provide FREE water to patrons upon request. FREE water must be readily available and easily obtained by patrons.

You can charge for sparkling, you can charge for still, but you cannot run a licensed premises without having FREE FUCKING WATER. It's against the law.

Exactly!

WTF is going on at that joint?!

It really peeves me when they do it down here, and then give me a funny look when I say I'm happy with water from the tap. I say "Is there something wrong with the rainwater you are getting out of the tap?".

When you think about it, if the water coming out of the tap is unfit for people to drink - do you really want to EAT there?

FORK NAW!

I have performed my good karma deed for the day.

A girl at work (a fit bird at that!) has a little '93 mazda 121 bubble sedan, which her alternator shat itself.

Background on the girl... She's a Clinical Nurse Specialist like me, but she operates in the cardiac (heart surgery) theatres. She's studying at the moment, she's in the Navy as a reservist, and also does at least two charity trips overseas a year, helping third world countries with cardiac surgery, for free. She even pays for her own flights and accommodation!

Sweet girl (why I can't find me one who's like this, and not a deadbeat?)

She was complaining that a couple of auto leccy's were quoting her $400-$500 for the replacement, and that she was a bit strapped for cash.

Anyways, this morning, went to pick'n'payless. Found an alternator, unbolted it from a wreck, it looked like it was reconditioned recently (fresh silver paint on it... and it looked good), and managed to talk old mate down to $50 for it.

Chucked it into her car.

Little animal of an alternator charges at 14.4v, even with headlights on! Better than mine! :P

I figured that she gives so much to the world, that it would be a privilege to help her out!

Warm and fuzzies rawk.

Good stuff Alex. The universe will repay you tenfold.

That is a joke and unfortunately it probably soured the (guessing here?) awesome food that was on the cook?

$7 for a glass of water is disgusting.

Yeah, I'm sure they could've/would've got tap water if they'd asked for it....

Yeah they weren't too impressed with the food either. TBH I think it's because they went with too high expectations. There's some rest. at Bangalow that's been given a hat, they went there a few weeks back and they've been raving bout it since cos it was only $56hd (+drinks) for 7 courses and was really good and even Dad was full afterwards.

Alex, great to hear mate! That is deed of the day I say!

On another note I am stoked that we got the gearbox out of my cousins girls Honda civic and got the new one in today, not so fun while the car is covered in redbacks, had a few of the fuckers parartroop down on me while I was working on the car..., I'm paid in food and beer supplies though so it's worth it.
