**next paged for your entertainment.

Went to a VW show on Sunday. Just passing by and I saw it, doubled back later with a mate of mine. Anyway.

As far as I was concerned, this and the other Karman were the only two cars at the show...

..and he had a little friend.

I find it very difficult to get excited about Kombi's and Bugs... so that's all the photos I took. There's a lot of money poured into some of these cars. VW people seem to be extra strange. I s'pose they think we're retarded for getting excited about something that was built last week... oh well.

This Golf had an Audi S3 engine swap! Nearly 300hp to the front wheels - which were so freakin' bald I'm surprised he could get on the damn oval.

Yes.

My sister has a Holden Viva Wagon. It can't be any worse than that.

Niko - I had both the Turbo Diesel and the Petrol Cruze's from Holden to drive for a few days. I was seriously impressed with the TD - gutloads of power and its well put together. Comfortable and well equipped. In all honesty I could own one without hating myself.

Transmission was not too bad - it's smooth. Instrument cluster was really nicely laid out and easy to read.

Morning. Just woke up! Loving holidays :)

Dont mind those Cruises Nik. Much better than the pretend 4WD earlier models.
Although Ive heard the base models are just that - very basic. An older friend ofcmine was tossing up between this and the new Kia Cerento thing that almost looks identical and for almost the same coin, got the Kia with a tonne of extras?

No shit, Josh? I was tripping balls when I sat in it and started tapping on things and it didn't break. Felt so well bolted together, and looking at the top spec CDX for her, so it's full leather, leccy seats, heated seats, shit is off the hizzook.

I'm thinking about 26g's and we can drive one away? You think that's a goer?

Yeah, Alex... nah. That's for VW people. We are not VW people. Also, no way she's driving a hatchback.

6 year warranty/ 200K... that's pretty worry free motoring as long as the warranty is solid. Also, there is a Holden dealer in my closest town, if we got anything outside of Yoda/Holden/Ford it's an hour drive for dealer servicing.

Dead serious bro. I honestly liked driving it - I did probably 100km city driving in the diesel and about 50km of highway and was really impressed by how efficient and comfortable it was.
Definitly go the diesel in these though - the petrol is very lacklustre.

No worse off than a base model liberty :S actually they are probably slightly better specced.

True. I am buying a Diesel genie, so diesel will be excise free for us (when filling the car to be driven ONLY on the property, of course) which drops the price by like 40c/L.

How much more would I have to pay for a diesel?

not actually too bad, had one as a work car and one co-worker had one

they go ok, gearing is nice and smooth, inside they are pretty decent, a bit plasticy but that's all holdens, the controls are nice and seating is actually pretty decent. and they have a fair bit of room, also it seemed to cope with the floggin i gave it over dirt roads :P ride was still comfortable
