If you ever have the opportunity to visit a Concentration camp, check out Auschwitz, which is a little town in Poland by the name of Oświęcim (original name, not the invading German / Hollywood Jewish movie making name Auschwitz) .

I remember, one of the only real excursions i enjoyed at high school was going to the holocaust museum in Sydney for modern history.

Our tour guide was a survivor from back in the day, think he said he was 14 at the time. Some of the stories he told us that day will stay with me for life. Life these days is so unbelievably different to how it was then, or at any point before I guess. Buggered if I can imagine going through even one of the things he did at that age.

Ancient history really doesn't arouse my interest, modern is great and I regret that I have not been able to travel around the world to talk with people that have lived through some of these horrible times.

Not good to make a show of peoples suffering and misery, however I do believe people do need to know about some of the atrocities the human race have committed in the past... And even today.

100% agree. My missus is Bosnian, and she was telling me some stories of the Bosnian - Serbian war, where over 1M people were slaughtered in the name of "Ethnic CleansIng". Her old man was in the war and some of the stories he's told me is HECTIC.

The human race is fucked up.

Yo Alex, they've down graded the cyclone warning, so it's sounding a bit better for me now. Still a level 1 severe weather warning though - hoping at this stage it doesn't batter our grapes around too much, we're only a week out from harvest.

Grapes are all coming on sweet, but weather like this doesn't help. We can't whack sulfur on inside 40 days of harvest so there is a real risk of infection starting. We'll see. Fuck all I can do about it now.

But it's funny to me because my mate just said how fucking stupid it was, and how he wasted all that time and energy hunkering down around his property - same as me - I was like bro, it could be worse, we could actually cop a fucking cyclone and everyone would be out of pocket!
