I've read so many conflicting versions of this, its done my head in.

And adding a sacrificial anode (like on boat motors) will help spot corrosion early, yes?

If you do get a high reading, try earthing the radiator to the body and re-test.
This should allow the stray current to dissapate to ground.

Im not sure how you would set up a sacrificial anode in a cooling system, but if you flush and replace the coolant every 2 years you shouldn't really have a problem.

LOL yeah I know...looks like my rad has grown a 'stash.

Basically went on some awesome and very overgrown fire trails just off the Putty Rd. Not sure if you ever took the Troopy to that region, but there are some epic roads around there as I was telling Morgan the other day.

I also stumbled upon this glorious track which was undergoing "soil rejuvenation". Basically meant a really loose surface and whole lot of fun for a solid 10kms or so. Steering went really light...tail was wagging. Kinda like driving on sand really.

I've been meaning to ask you about it since I put the alloy rad. in to mine. Was going to do the anode thing though , but will put the multimeter to it later !

Just called the sellers for the SP20 and SP23.

SP23 didn't pick up. Left a msg and might call back later.

Had a good chat with the SP20 seller. They've had it since new, selling because they've just had a baby, etc.

Only thing is it hasn't had the 100k service, otherwise they've always had it serviced at Mazda. Suppose this is a bargaining point...
