My phone pretty much blew up yesterday when Port lost to the Gold Coast.

On my way to work before I was driving down parramatta road, no traffic, other side of the road were highway patrol in a new supercharged V8 falcon, no idea how fast they hadthat thing but they were using all three lanes and I could still hear the thing revving it's **** off and the supercharger whine. Actually sounded pretty decent. They were doing well north of 100 though.

Rumours have been floating around the blue camp that the brand new superchargerd boss engine in the fpv's is a screamer. I was lucky enough to tag along with a mate that just picked one up this morning. Impressions, wow....does not like feel like a factory car one bit, with the little 1.9lt harrop supercharger screaming away and that active exhaust barking this thing has aftermarket written all over it! First order of business was to take it down to Xtreme. Brand new with 9kms on the clock when it was picked up. Well and truely "run-in" by the time it got to the dyno.

Strapped down and went 333rwkw which is out of this world totally stock through a zf. That's just shy of 450rwhp from a brand new untouched car, converted back through drivetrain loss, this is a 550+hp car with warranty!!

With a few light teaks it went 350 and with more time spent on it, it would easliy go 400rwkw with just an ecu flash nothing else!

It's finished ferment, but will continue to balance over the coming weeks in barrel. There's still 100L+ in there.

Smoke would only come from a much newer barrel, or a barrel used to house peated whiskies, this is a non peated barrel.

As for the alcohol, considering the amount of residual sugar in there, I am trying to find out about repitching with some more high grav. yeast - it won't change the flavour at all as far as I can tell.

I really like it though. Its the last of a nice breed of Subaru's. Given the price, I'd take it over that Impreza you posted up. Only concern is the mileage...

Just looking up Redbook now for the wasps. Anyone know what variant it is? It doesn't have leather, but has a sunroof and foglights.

I'm guessing either the 2.0R AWD - base model or the 2.0R Luxury because of those little extras. Will ask over at club.lib, they will have some answers

Plus it has the 5 spoke 17" rims, which looks like that means it's not the base, base, base model!

The fact that the Mazda is the same price at 3 years older tells me its a better car.
I would be concerned if the Suby was too cheap. Does it have an accurate and documented service history?

I had a GD626 which was a larger version of the SP20. To me, in a lot of ways, it was a better car than the GenIII just nowhere as nice to drive.

Where did you get the 2.0R from Morgs? It says 2.0i in the ad. With that many km's it was probably a company car, so I wouldn't hold my breath on the condition of it, still pretty good price for a 5-6 yr old car.

What happened to getting a hatchback?
