Using a 3/8 drillmotor at 500 RPM gives you a crush rate of 6 pounds a minute making the big grain bills fast and easy.

That's exactly why I've bought it, Alex.

I am also getting a drill to go along with it, anyone with any suggestions? Looking at something that will handle sustained use with high torque at a relatively low RPM. Tradies, get in here!

Hey guys..

Went camping on Monday, spare of the moment decision... Was awesome fun, went with 2 mates and took my son, first time camping for him (other than when he was just walking) he loved it.

Threw everything in the back of the Crewman, and got on the road and headed out to Woods Point.

Didn't remember how bloody long the drive was haha ALOT of dirt road a few deer and a river crossing later, we arrived, set up camp and this is where we were...

Yesterday we went for a walk past the next river crossing (where we couldn't pass cause the crewman is only RWD) and much to our surprise, further along maybe 1km, there was a gen4 wagon.. though.. HOW THE F did it get through.. everything else was big ass kitted out 4WD's and such..
anyway our spot was better anyway cause nobody else was around.. and it didn't smell like turd :P

packed up, and then we were just about to leave when along came the lib.. watched it cross the river, not bad, nice big wake over the bonnet but it made it through... then the next one.. we came through pretty hard and quick the night before, hit a nice big submerged rock.. but there isn't much underneath the crewman haha
Lib driver bailed out tried to move the rock.. couldn't budge it.. anyway, needless to say did a nice amount of work to the bottom of the wags. we crossed through slightly more cautious this time.. pulled up and had a quick word to him, he too came through the day before and hit the rock.. and then i saw one of his mufflers was pretty much torn off haha. poor car... i would never have taken it through.. but at the same time.. driving so far to be stopped by what looked like a small river crossing.. would have sucked.

anyway, awesome short trip away. found a nice spot to go camping next time.. oh.. and the water.. so cold, i put the milk in the river in the morning to cool it down, about an hour later.. milk had frozen <_<
so we decided to go swim in the waterhole.. FFFfffark, it was so cold it was painful to stand in the water.. basically ran in, went under, couldn't breath ran out, stood next to fire numb. Alpine water.. BLOODY COLD!

I hear three recommendations from tradies.. its a Holden Vs Ford debate.

Some like Makita, some like Dewalt and some like Bosch Professional (the blue not the green).

I got Dad an 18V Bosch Professional and the thing has V8 like torque LOL tis awesome.

De-Walt, their new Batteries are ACE! also.. one battery fits all their things.. Makita is old school, but their quality is not as good as their name suggests, they have started to slip.
Hitachi make a good drill also.. they are good priced and if i was in the market for something that was not going to be used every day non stop for building.. the Hitachi is what i would get.

i have to say though.. of all the stuff plumbers would come in with at work.. and what they would say about the stuff... De-Walt comes out on top..

I'm looking at HILTI, which is a few rungs above those suggestions. Makita are hit and miss for low rpm high torque use.
